TY 2025 is ready. Go Crazy. (7 Nov 2025)
The NTTC Workbook, NTTC Pub 4012, NTTC Pub 4491 (training guide) and Pub 6744 (Link and Learn tests) are all updated for TY 2025 and reflect the new tax laws.  It is important to use the NTTC versions of the documents, as the IRS version does not reflect the new tax laws. The links below are the correct and most recent versions.
Our recommendation is you download the documents from this website and just print the pages you need. The latest version will have any errata. The paper book you will receive in the mail will require you to review the errata. As we figure out that impact, we'll update the info below.

Pub 4491 is the NTTC version of the Training Guide we give new counselors. It is very good and helpful when trying to remember specifics. Â
SELF-STUDY / REFRESHER TRAINING. The new VITA/TCE Central is the front-end to what we call the Link and Learn Site. There are a number of Quick Links which will take you to IRS latest training modules ("Link & Learn Taxes Lessons"). From that link, choose "Click here to see the content of each course". Remember that we take the "Advanced" program.  Additionally, the NTTC has a Self-Study Counselor Training And Certification Course. It provide quick definitions and also guides you through the proper sections of the PUB 4491 and has lots of practice exercises. If in doubt, start with the NTTC course.

** For the NTTC Workbook, the page numbers are the numbes in the book. If using Adobe, add 4 for the physical page number (e.g., Garibaldi starts on physical page number 32). Currently, there is no errata for the NTTC workbook.
*** For the Pub 6744, use on offset of 5 pages to convert from page number to physical page. (e.g., Standards of Conduct starts on physical page 19).
There is no published errata for the test. However, if you are using the printed copy, the 1 known errata that impacts us is below. It appears to just be an issue with column headings and no impact to the problem.
